The business was established in 1996 and trades under the company name Golf Network. Initially we were distributors for major brands Maxfli, Adidas, Cross Creek and Goldwin. In 1999 the company set up MD Golf as it was believed there was a need for a brand offering a high quality product but at a middle price point. Golf Network is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland and is owned and operated by the same company.

Since launching in 2003, Superstrong has won numerous awards in all the UK’s leading golf publications. Today’s Golfer has awarded MD Golf the driver Best Value Driver of the Year in three of the last four years. National Club Golfer awarded the Superstrong ST the overall winner in its driver test of 24 leading models in May 2011.
In 2008 the company worked with the greatest European golfer of all time – Seve Ballesteros – to develop a range of golfing equipment under the icon name. Sadly with Seve’s passing in 2010 we could no longer benefit from the great maestro’s input, however our engineers hope they can leave a suitable legacy for Seve by continuing to push the boundaries of golf club development with the new Icon range.
Norman Drew was the first golfer to play Walker Cup, Ryder Cup and World Cup golf. Through our close association, we have developed a specialist range of short game products that assist golfers of all abilities, based on Norman’s legendary short game. Today’s Golfer awarded our wedge #1 for spin – since then we have continued to be the choice of golfers who want maximum spin.
